Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Kings X1 Punjab:
Here we are in Kolkata and the match is between the 2 most exciting sides of the tournament. It’s Kolkata Knight Riders who will take on the Kings X1 Punjab. Kolkata at the moment is at no 2 while Kings X1 Punjab is at no 8 in points table. Match will be played at Eden Gardens Kolkata and will start at 7:30 PM Pakistan Standard time.
Starting from the KXIP side whose unpredictability is still the same and u never know how they are going to perform in the next match. KXIP has changed their captain from David Miller to Murali Vijay and they finally won a big match against Gujarat Lions at their home. Batsmen are not consistent and on pitches like these you can’t survive much with 2-3 main batsmen not in form. Big blow for KXIP is that their main striking batsmen Shaun Marsh has got injured and now ruled out of the tournament. Glenn Maxwell and David Miller both are totally off-color so far in the tournament and haven’t performed much with the bat this season. Murali Vijay scored some runs in the last match and looking in good touch but now he has to spark with the bat and lead his side from the front. Coming towards their bowling which has done a nice job but didn’t got support from the Batsmen much. Axar Patel was terrific in the last match and took 4 wickets. Mohit Sharma also bowled brilliant and was quite consistent from the start of the tournament. As a whole KXIP have such players who can win matches for the side but combination is not working properly for them. If they managed to beat Kolkata at their home ground, then that will boost up their confidence but another loss will almost send them out of the next round.
Coming towards the KKR side who have performed extremely well in the last match against RCB and chased a high total where the lower middle order totally destroyed the RCB bowling attack and now looking in a dazzling form. Starting from their batting where their captain is leading the side from the front and now in the list of top run scorer. Robin Uthappa is also in a decent touch and Manish Pandey has done a fine job so far in the tournament. As a whole their batting is in supreme touch and have no issues at all. The main issue they are facing is their bowling in death overs. Most of their bowlers have conceded a lot of runs and that can cause problem for them in the coming matches. Overall their side is doing a decent job in the tournament and is at no 2 in the points table. Their match is against the KXIP side who was quite brilliant in the last match and have done a fine job against Gujarat Lions.
The match will be at Eden Gardens Kolkata which is a batting heaven wicket and batsmen will have an edge over bowlers. There is no rain forecast for the match.
