PTV Sports Live PSL
The only match of this Tuesday of HBL PSL will be played between the most strongest team of the tournament so far Quetta Gladiators and the most weakest team of the tournament so far Lahore Qalandars. Quetta is leading the points table with 5 wins and 2 losses and they are at no 2 in the points table while on the other hand Lahore is at the bottom of the table and need a win if they really want to Qualify for the Play offs. They have bounced back a little but still not up to the expectations.
Looking at the performance of Lahore Qalandars They have been down and out so far in the tournament as their combination couldn’t helped them as they were expecting but the way they fought back against the Peshawar Zalmi and won a close contest against them it’s been looking as if they fight and work hard in the next matches they can qualify for the play-offs. The biggest asset of Lahore Qalandars is Chris Gayle and his performance was worst in this PSL as he has scored 6, 0,37,0 in the 4 matches he played with an average of just 10 so he should perform for sure if Lahore wants a victory. Second problem for the Lahore team is their fielding as they have dropped most number of catches in the tournament so far and if they played like that they surely will be in a great loss in the next matches. Bowling of Lahore Qalandars is also average and they have no promising bowler in their team who can win the match for them single handedly. The entry of Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis also couldn’t made a good impact on the team performance. Lahore can only win matches by putting big totals on the board and for this their star batsmen Chris Gayle, Umar Akmal and Dwayne Bravo have to strike otherwise they have not as such bowling who can defend small targets for them.
Coming to toward the second best but now one of the most favorites to win the tournament team Quetta Gladiators who is led by Sarfaraz Ahmed who is doing wonderful captaincy so far and the biggest enigmatic of their success is their combination which is working perfectly for Quetta. Brilliant opening so far from both Ahmad Shehzad and Luke Wright and then a strong middle order with Sarfaraz Ahmad and Kevin Pietersen has made their combination superb. But the way they played against Peshawar Zalmi in their last match it was horrible as if their whole
batting exposed in front of Shahid Khan Afridi who took his career best 5-7 and gave Peshawar an easy 8 wickets victory over Quetta. Quetta have qualified for the Play offs and they will play against Peshawar Zalmi in their last match but playing against Lahore will be a good match practice before the Play offs.
After a brilliant show in Sharjah we are back in Dubai and it is expected a better crowd then the last time. Quetta also have to remember that last time when they played against the Lahore Qalandars they were beaten quite shamefully by a huge 63 runs margin so they surely have to go harder against Lahore this time. This will also give confidence to Lahore Qalandars team as they have already beat Quetta in their first meeting.
