New Zealand threw up 3rd time in the series as Pakistan wrapped up another whitewash and this time against the Blackcaps who they never ever lost a 3 T20I matches series before coming to UAE.
Toss doesn’t matter for the Green team as they already hold the world record of winning 11 T20I in a row while chasing, so it was ice on the cake of winning the toss and elected to bat 1st.
Pakistan could not manage up to par score after the power play and just manage to score 30 for the lost of dangerous Fakhar Zaman who struggled today as the Balck caps done their homework against the left-hander who went for 11 of 16 quite unusual for Zaman as for as the strike rate is concerned.
But smart move of sending Mohammed Hafeez at No.3 worked perfectly for the Green guns as he brought Pakistan back in the game with quick-fire fifty alongside the cool and calm a classy Babar Azam reached to his world record 1000 runs in only 26 innings beating great Virat Kohli by one inning and then finished his inning 79 of just 58 with the help of 7×4 and 2 big Sixes.
Shoaib Malik played a sweet little inning of 19 of just 9 balls and Asif Ali remains not out for 2 alongside Sensational Hafeez 53 of 34.
Black Caps needs 167 in allotted 20 overs to avoid 1st ever whitewash but could manage to reach 119 despite an outstanding knock of skipper KS Williamson 60 of 38 balls one-man army show.
Excellent plan of Pakistan by giving the new ball to Mohammed Hafeez but not Imad as usual, which works perfectly for Pakistan and Faheem got precious Colin Munro cheaply for 2 of 5 and then Usman Khan out ice on the cake by running Colin de Grandhomme out.
A little period for the black caps came when Skipper played an outstanding knock, but once Shadab removes Willamson it took 27 balls before demolished the opponents. Shadab once again picks of the bowler after conceding 24 of his 1st 2 overs Sarfraz Ahmed showed faith in leggy and he delivered perfectly by getting 3 wickets in another 2 overs of his spell given away 10 only. Imad superb as always and finished with 28 for 2 of his 4. DebutanteWaqas Maqsood went a little expensive but can celebrate his debut and birthday with 2 wickets for 21 in 1.5 overs. Hafeez and Faheem were superb in power play.
It’s dream run continued for the Green Shirts as they have won 11 straight series in T20I and 8 wins in a row. This is 31st time (most by any) Pakistan bowled a team out in T20I. Rightly Babar awarded Man of the match, Hafeez man of the series. 1st ODI between the sides will be played on 7th at Shaikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
