Pakistan vs New Zealand 1st T20 Highlights

What a good game of cricket today by Pakistan, it has played its inaugural match first T20 out of three with New Zealand in Eden Park-Auckland. Pakistan beautifully played the game and wins it very easily. Before the start of the match both teams were looking quite enthusiastic towards the game and wanted to grasp the game. The wicket was not slow but a good one in Auckland, here in the same venue New Zealand defeated Srilanka.

TOSS WINNING AND ELECTED TO BOWL FIRST:

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first by offering a first play to Pakistan. As soon as Pakistani openers came into the crease but soon Shehzad went off by Milne. He did not play aggressively and made a little score. Hafeez has been phenomenal throughout the match as he played massive innings of 61 in just 47 balls. Akmal was also very well at the crease whereas skipper Shahid Afridi remained magnificent throughout the game as he scored 23 in just 8 balls by hitting two smashing sixes and two fours. Almost every batsmen of Pakistan played his part whether little or higher except the few ones; Sohaib Maqsood and Sarfarz Ahmed. But Hafeez, Akmal and Afridi compensated through their fabulous played innings and made it possible to set a high target. The bowling of Milne was beyond the expectations as he bowled out for batsmen who could be prove more dangerous for his team.

NEW Zealand FAILED MIDDLE ORDER:

When New Zealand started its innings, the openers played very well but just like Pakistan one of the opener dismissed earlier. Guptill had to leave because of the perfect run out by Afridi. But Collin Munro played an outstanding innings of 56 in just 27 balls. The contribution of Munro and Williamson were a biggest one which dragged Kiwis’ score to 155. And both of these huge contributes were dismissed by Pakistan’s amazing bowler Wahab Riaz. Except the massive bating of Munro and the skipper Williamson the rest of the players did not work at all. All of the middle order melted out frequently after an easy run out of Martin Guptil. Despite the efforts of Williamson and Munro, New Zealand did not achieve the target set by the green shirts and finally given up by loosing the match by 16 runs. After the fall of the middle order of new Zealand, the skipper Williamson played consistently and did not leave the crease at the very end. Because of his consistent playing it had been expecting that New Zealand could win the match but how beautifully Pakistan’s bowlers snatched the game from them. Although it was expected that Kiwis are more in form than Pakistan as they recently defeated Sri Lanka in their own home land. They were considered to be more confident as the venue is same but opponents are different. The absence of Ross Taylor also affected New Zealand’s performance but he would join the team in the 2nd and 3rd T20s. Despite the fact that Martin Guptil was in an amazing form and remained phenomenal in last home series against Srilanka and due to his smashing performance he made his team able to win the match. But in today’s match he melted down in front of Eagles’ who bowled stunningly. If Williamson could stayed a bit longer till the end, then the game could be in their hands. Here most importantly the credit goes to the outstanding, amazing and magnificent bowlers of Pakistan who set a way to pavilion for Kiwis.
