What an Incredible day it’s been for Pakistan. They have batted extremely well, and they are at the top of the game right now. Glorious Hundreds from Younis Khan and Asad Shafiq, vital 49 runs from Azhar Ali, and a very handy 26 runs from Yasir Shah as a night watchman give Pakistan the control of the match. They completed the day with 340-6 a 12 run lead with four wickets to go and hopeful for 100 scores lead at least. Pakistan could entirely outclass England, but two wickets of Misbah and Iftikhar in one over of Woakes gave England some confidence for the 3rd day.
Pakistan is the most unpredictable team in the world, and they prove again and again. At the end of the 1st day when everyone thought that England would take this match quickly from here, Pakistan came with an excellent display of the game, and they proved themselves in the match. After the loss at Old Trafford and Edgbaston this is Pakistan the only chance to draw the series and for that Pakistan has tried so hard. Now for the 3rd day, Pakistan will look forward to a lead of at least 100 runs as this lead can be very handy for the match later. With Younis Khan still there along with Sarfaraz both batsmen need to be patient and try to play sensibly in the first hour of the game as the ball gets old it will be much easier to play after that. If Pakistan survives the first hour, they have a very Big chance of scoring a decent total in their first Innings. Pakistan needs to be much more positive tomorrow they have a lead, and they can play better because there is not much on the pitch so they can score quickly. Pakistani tail also has to play a role to increase this lead.
Coming towards Hosts who hadn’t a magnificent day but at the end, they got some crucial wickets, and they will come with high spirits tomorrow for the 3rd day. Pakistani tail is not very high and if England bowlers bowl some good deliveries, and their fielding got improved they can get Pakistan early as possible. They dropped Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, and Yasir Shah today and that catches cost them a lot. England has a superb bowling and if the pitch shows something fruitful for bowler they have a tremendous chance of getting Pakistan out early.
Conditions apparently look perfect for batting and an expected sunny day will be tomorrow. There is not much chance of rain and pitch won’t help bowlers much.
